Defensive Bombardment - Process

Started off with a concept sketch for the pose. I was a very defensive gibraltar main at the time and I loved dropping at airbase so the pose and setting was inspired by that. The gun chosen was the Peacekeeper; my favourite shotty at the time.

The line art and background lines are done, and the background is more fleshed out. Lines were added to signal motion of the defensive bombardment dropping.

Colours were added, the shading is slowly coming together. I opted to do a lineless background in contrast to the line art of Gibraltar to emphasize the character more, as this was a 'Favourite Character' competition challenge.

Added more elements to the background, here he is in his dome which is a shield ability in game, to protect himself from the nades.

Finally, colour adjustment and adding more blues to the dome to make it similar to in-game. My entry didn't win, but it's okay as I was extremely happy with how it turned out in the end!
